I’m not certain of what has been offered from Edmonton’s perspective. I’m told that there was a team that offered two second round picks for Cam Talbot and that didn’t close the deal.
This morning Darren Dreger was on TSN 1260 and not surprisingly the Oilers goaltending situation, and their pursuit of a new netminder was a topic of conversation.
Both the Oilers and Buffalo Sabres, two of the teams rumoured to be most interested, have two second round picks in this year's draft, so if Dreger is right about the offer it doesn't mean that the Oilers were the team that made the offer. Personally, I think 33rd overall and a prospect (or a swap of prospects depending on who the Rangers want) gets this done, but only time will tell.
