Former Yale University center Andrew Miller has been recalled from the Oklahoma City Barons in wake of Matt Fraser being injured during Monday's 4-1 win over the Maple Leafs.
Miller has scored 56 points in 58 games this season, and has scored nine points in the last five games including a hat trick against the Charlotte Checkers on March 15th.
The Bloomfield Hills, MI native captained the Yale Bulldogs to the team's first ever NCAA final four championship in 2012-2013.
"You're looking at a guy who's been out most consistent player all year long. With and without the puck he is a warrior," said OKC coach Gerry Fleming. "It's a well deserved opportunity and he'll make the most of it."
"It's pretty exciting," said Miller on his call-up. "It's about doing what I do best, moving the puck, moving my feet and using my speed to make plays."
"Hopefully I can do that, it will be fun.
Miller is expected to join the team in Edmonton and will draw into the lineup tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
