After appearing in five games back in November, Iiro Pakarinen is set to make his return appearance in Edmonton. In his previous stint with the big club, Pakarinen recorded a single goal, was +1, and took all of nine shots. He also played less than eight minutes in each of the five games he dressed in. But when dressing for the Oilers farm team, the Oklahoma City Barons, this season he's got some pretty decent counting numbers; 17 goals and 11 assists in 39 games to go along with a team leading +17.
The Oilers had been carrying just 22 players (don't ask me why) so this move doesn't require anyone to board a plane headed in the opposite direction just yet. More likely with both Taylor Hall and Benoit Pouliot leaving last night's game early due to injury, this means that at least one won't be able to go tomorrow night when the Oilers host the Penguins. On the bright side, the Peguins will have Evgeni Malkin back in their lineup tomorrow.
