The Oilers were absolutely thumped on Cupid's day at the hands of a mediocre Ottawa Senators team (but who are we to judge, really?). While Benoit Pouliot recently returned to the lineup off of injured reserve, Rob Klinkhammer will miss the game welcoming another good Canadian boy into the world. Boyd Gordon did not make the morning skate and remains a game time decision.
How to Tune In
The puck drops at 6:00 PM MT on Sportsnet Oilers.
What to Watch for From the Oilers
The Oilers will play the last game of a six game road trip tonight in Winnipeg. They pulled out gutsy wins in Montreal and New Jersey, and a victory against the new-look Jets would put them at .500 on the voyage. That should be motivation enough for a hard-fought, well-executed game tonight—that is, if there's even an ounce of pride left in the Oilers locker room.

Here are a few keys to the game, courtesy of the high-flying mavericks over at Arctic Ice Hockey:
If I had to pick keys to the game, it would be simply these:
1) Shoot the puck at the net.
2) Be aware that this team is called the Edmonton Oilers.
3) Use the size of Dustin Byfuglien and Tyler Myers to confuse and/or frighten them.
4) I'd say don't take stupid penalties but since I know you're going to anyway, don't let them capitalize on any chances they're given.
Final Thought
Here's a good read from Bruce McCurdy on the rising trade value of pending UFA Jeff Petry.
