Sometimes it's the simplest ideas that I enjoy the most. And Pride Tape, a very cool project from the University of Alberta’s Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services, is a great example of this.
Launched today with a Kickstarter campaign, the goal of Pride Tape is to help raise awareness and overcome discrimination and welcome LGBTQ youth to hockey and sport. Profits from the sale of Pride Tape will be split between the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services and the You Can Play Project, a group whose goal is to insure the safety and inclusion of all in sports - including LGBTQ athletes, coaches and fans.

If you're like me and you still haven't even considered Christmas shopping, backing the Kickstarter campaign is an easy way to cross a few people off your list with a very original gift, and one that will do a lot more good than whatever you would have ended up buying on Christmas Eve from the local gas station.
