When we last checked in on Justin Schultz the Chief of the Oilers' Medical Staff was on his way back from Europe. That didn't sound good at all. Now we know not only what the injury is but how long Schultz will be out for.

With Schultz out of the Oilers line-up until mid, maybe late November, an already thin Oilers blue line gets a little bit thinner. Before Schultz was knocked out the line-up the Oilers had played the same five defenceman in every game - Mark Fayne, Eric Gryba, Oscar Klefbom, Andrej Sekera, and Schultz - and had rotated players in and out of the final spot. With Schultz on the sideline I would expect that Darnell Nurse will fill Schultz's spot (and he'll never go back to Bakersfield) and the rotation in the six spot will continue as before.
