Tonight is kind of a good news/bad news night for Oilers fans. First the good news: the season is half over. And now the bad news: the season is only half over. Sorry. Do you want me to tell you again that the Oilers aren't as bad as their record? Or that they aren't bad enough to finish last and likely won't get McDavid? What can I do to make the last half of this season more enjoyable for you?
How To Tune In
7:30PM Mountain Time on Sportsnet West.
What To Watch For From The Oilers
Did you know that Viktor Fasth hasn't won a game since November 9th? The Oilers have only won two games since then though, so that might not be too surprising. But do you know what else November 9th was? That was the last time the Oilers had a winning streak - two games is a streak. And tonight Fasth is back in net and the Oilers are looking to win two games in a row once again, it's meant to be. Sure he might have only one game with a save percentage over .900 in his last five appearances, but I've got a good feeling about tonight. Look for Fasth to be the games first star. Hey, it could happen.
What To Watch For From The Wings
From Winging It In Mowtown:
No game in the NHL is a guaranteed win, but if you're looking for two points, the Oilers don't win much. No messing around tonight. Ideally the Wings can get up early with a decent lead and hopefully cut back on ice time for some of the top guys. Rest up for the second night of the back-to-back. Get the two points tonight and right the ship on this western Canadian road trip.
They don't think too highly of the Oilers. They must not have heard that they're not as bad as their record.
Final Thought
