Just this morning the hockey world was surprised to hear the news that two time Stanley Cup champion Mike Richards was placed on waivers. This afternoon John Shannon of sportsnet confirmed that the Oilers will not be making a claim on Richards.
Strike the Oilers off the list of teams that might have interest in Mike Richards. A simple "No" was the answer to the question about MR.

Richards will likely clear waivers as he has a cap hit of $5.75 million until 2020 but teams may still have interest in him via the trade market.
If there was some way for the Oilers to dump some salary, or have the LA Kings take some back, Richards would look good in the Oilers colours.
... but just not at $5.75 million.
