Game Thread: Oilers at Predators: Another Trip To Tennessee

New, comments

The Preds have owned the Oilers so far this year. Something big must change.

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Mike Fisher is back in the lineup and Justin Schultz and Martin Marincin are out for the Oilers who have lost seven straight games and face the hottest team in the West with the best home record in the West. The Oilers have to pray that the Predators sleepwalk through this one, or hope for a rainout.

How To Tune In

Sportsnet 360, which I believe still has the Sportsnet intermission show. Turn the television off at intermission.

What To Watch For From The Oilers

Noted boat anchor Luke Gazdic was added to the lineup against Dallas and stunk. So useful is Gazdic, his coach gave him 3:42 of ice time. Nice signing.

What To Watch For From The Preds

Filip Forsberg is on a silly run right now. He gets all kinds of protection from the Preds fourth line headed by Paul Gaustad and the Preds second line. He takes third-level comp and has been killing it. On defense, the Preds ask Shea Weber and Roman Josi to do anything and everything difficult, and leave the other four defensemen to play much softer competition. Watch for Ryan Ellis - he pairs with the Forsberg line often and moves the puck as fast as possible up the ice.

Oh, and dead fish. And I'm not talking about the Oilers either.

After their big win last night, the Preds are getting even more national attention...this time from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, who aren't too thrilled with the catfish-chucking. PETA Senior Director Colleen O'Brien says catfish are "sentient beings who feel fear and pain, and throwing fish—dead or alive—onto the ice is no more acceptable than throwing live or dead kittens onto the ice".Projected Line-Ups
