The Oilers made a change in the coaching staff as newcomer Dustin Schwartz matriculated from the Edmonton Oil Kings up to the varsity team to replace Frederic Chabot as Goaltending Coach:
Coming in to replace Chabot is Dustin Schwartz, previously of the Oil King organization. Unlike the Oilers, there has been a lot to like about the development of goalies within the Oil Kings organization of late. Laurent Brossoit (now playing with the Oklahoma City Barons) and Tristan Jarry both developed under his guidance. Before joining the Oil Kings, Schwartz played in the WHL and then spent five seasons with the Golden Bears at the University of Alberta.
Schwartz quickly took to the ice to turn the ship around:
