Today's The Day The Oilers Could Get Taylor Hall Back

An MCL injury that was predicted to keep Taylor Hall off the ice for anywhere between four and six weeks just might be a thing of the past if we're lucky tomorrow.  It's been about two and a half weeks since his he was diagnosed, and while it thrills me that Taylor Hall might be getting back on the ice for this team, it also frightens the hell out of me that he's back before he's ready.  Hall says that the pain "dissolved" after a short time.  If he's ready to come back, it'll be a huge coup for an Oilers team with only six wins in their first seventeen games.

The Oilers are saying

That's Taylor Hall talking a bit on his recovery.

I don't like to gush over players, but Taylor Hall is the big cheese, the big kahuna burger, the Muay Thai, the molotov cocktail, the bee's knees, the A1, the top cat, the straw that stirs the drink.

In other words, a healthy Taylor Hall is worth his weight in gold to the Edmonton Oilers.

The Opponent is saying

"Our most important player is Martin Hanzal".  "When he's rolling, we're a better team, and he got rolling tonight"
I was sure Mikkel Boedker was Arizona's most important player, but that's only when the Coyotes play the Oilers and Boedker pops off for a hat trick en route to a four point night.   Doan made his comment after Hanzal's three goal output on Friday against Vancouver.  Hanzal is tied for third on the Coyotes with eleven points.

Have some of this
  • If Taylor Hall is active for today's game, a defenceman is likely to go back to OKC, be it Marincin, Aulie or Klefbom.  Out of those three players, i regretfully inform you that Aulie is probably the least likely to get sent back down.
  • How's the Benoit Pouliot on line one thing going lately?  He's got four points in his last three games, including an assist in last game in an OTL for Edmonton.  Four points in his first fourteen games has turned into four more in his last three.  Ride that wave.
  • A few games ago I suggested that it was time for David Perron to come out of his shell.  He's got eight assists, but he's still shooting at just 2.4% on the year.  Any minute now...
  • Hold on to your line cards for tonight's update by Ryan.  Hall could get tossed into any of the top three lines, so keep your eyes peeled to see where he lands, if he's in at all.
