Fasth End to a Winning Streak
Poor goaltending and a no-show period by most of the team undid many of the good feelings after the Oilers dominant victory in the New York. A second period charge got the game to within a goal, but the team ran out of gas after running a short bench for most of the game which was the 5th on a road trip and 3rd in 6 nights.
The Oilers are saying
"It’s nice to be back on the ice with the guys and be a part of the team again. It was tough watching them on the road trip, but at the same time I thought they played some pretty good hockey so it’s good to be back with them."
"I spent three solid years here in Edmonton with the Oil Kings and I'm looking forward to stepping on the ice [Thursday]. It's going to be pretty special."
- Oilers need to figure out a goaltender rotation. Fasth's 3rd start in 6 nights went bad, not sure why Scrivens didn't get the call there.
- Nail Yakupov is back in the lineup after leaving the game against the Predators after it looked like David Perron stepped on his forearm with his skate.
- This is the start of a 5 game home stand for the Oilers.
- The Oilers are currently 6-2-0 vs the East, but are a perfect 4-0-0 against the East at Rogers Place.
