#Oilers recall centre Bogdan Yakimov from the @OKCBarons and assign defenceman Oscar Klefbom.
— Edmonton Oilers (@EdmontonOilers) October 14, 2014
Along with Teddy Purcell and Jordan Eberle, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins didn't participate in the team's practice in Los Angeles today. Coach Dallas Eakins says that Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is "bruised up all over" after Saturday's 5-4 shootout loss in Vancouver. I hope that's all it is, and has nothing to do with his altercation with Dan Hamhuis. Yakimov is very likely a contingency plan should Ryan Nugent-Hopkins be unable to dress for tomorrow's game against the Kings.
In order to make room for Yakimov, Oscar Klefbom was shipped to OKC. Klefbom had not appeared in either of Edmonton's regular season games. With the Oilers sending Klefbom to OKC, it seems a fair bet that the Oilers will keep the same six defencemen as those who appeared against Vancouver. Unless, of course, they feel like dropping Darnell Nurse into the lineup.
