Top Story: After the thrashing at the hands of the Blues, I was tempted to use The Doors "When the Music's Over" as the video above. Right now the Oilers are being held together by special teams and Devan Dubnyk and nothing more. At even strength this team is downright awful. The Predators are hanging on to their playoff hopes, but if they find a buyer for Chris Mason or Scott Hannan, they should sell. Nashville is almost as bad as Edmonton at even strength, and far worse on special teams, but Pekka Rinne keeps them in most games.
The Oilers are saying:
Positive energy boosts the home team, booing boosts the road team. But, I think I was fairly clear that fans can cheer/boo how they want...
— Dan Tencer (@dantencer) March 24, 2013
I wonder if Tencer thought that up on his own or that came down from the top?
The Opponent is saying:
"We have a good goaltender, we have to play good defensively. I know some guys are playing over their heads, some guys quite clearly can’t play at this level, that’s plain and simple, but we’re going to sort that out and go from there."
--Barry Trotz on the talent level of his team.
Key matchup: Ehh, whatever. Let's say Rich Klune vs Mike Brown. Very important.
