Top Story: There are just a handful of teams who have been worse than the Oilers over the last 10 games - the Predators are one of them. The Preds are 3-6-1 in their last 10 and have fallen to a 48 point pace, now well back of 8th-seeded San Jose's 53 point pace. The Oilers are on a 46 point pace, which is a 78 point pace through 82 games. That's a 4 point improvement on last year's 29th place total.
The Oilers are saying:
"Who do you call when the game is on the line? Mike Brown. Who do you need when you need to shut Pavel Datsyuk down? Mike Brown! Who do I want on my second line? Mike Brown!!"
--Ralph Krueger.
The Opponent is saying:
"I wish our opponents would do something stupid like play their goon on the second line with the game on the line. They did? Oh. I hope they do that against us!"
--Barry Trotz
Key matchup: Not playing hired knuckles Mike Brown in a key situation ever again. It's inexcusably bad coaching.
