The continuing saga of which deck chairs to shuffle as the Titanic sinks continued today as the Oilers decided to assign Taylor Fedun back to the Oklahoma City Barons and recall Corey Potter.
#Oilers assign defenceman Taylor Fedun (@tfedun88) to @OKCBarons and recall defenceman Corey Potter (@Potsy44).

In his short time with the Edmonton Oilers Taylor Fedun posted 2-0-2 in 4GP. This is not a bad move as Fedun could use some more time down in the minors to improve defensively. With that being said, I'm surprised a player like Philip Larsen that could use more time improving his defensive prowess wasn't reassigned instead of Fedun.
Corey Potter on the other hand has spent the last 2 seasons with the Oilers and posted 7-18-25 in 95GP. During his short stint in OKC Potter was 0-1-1 in 5GP and went -4 over that time. This move isn't much of an upgrade or change for the Oilers defense but maybe they are hoping to improve the power play with Potter's point shot.
