The Sun's Derek Van Diest reports today:
The #Oilers will have to go a month without Taylor Hall (knee) and at least a week without Ryan Smyth (groin).

Add Ryan Smyth to the scores of walking wounded in Edmonton. With the news that Taylor Hall will miss a month and Jesse Joensuu is still not close to returning, the Oilers' left wing depth consists of David Perron and two guys out of position. Nail Yakupov will fill in for Hall, while Tyler Pitlick will fill in for Smyth. Ryan Jones will be deployed on the third line as well and all of this after Mark Arcobello still sits on the second line between Perron and Hemsky.
The IR count now stands at six : Smyth, Hall, Joensuu, Ryan Hamilton, and Sam Gagner at forward and Corey Potter on defense. Throw in a hobbled Jordan Eberle on the right side and the training room in Edmonton is spilling over.
