Phoenix Coyotes ready for challenge of red-hot Edmonton Oilers - AZ Central
"They've done a real good job . . . they picked some good talent," he said. "Khabibulin is playing great; he's just been solid as a rock. We're going to have to find a way to match their work ethic because they're going to work."
Coyotes Ups and Downs: Looking Back at the 10 Game Mark - Five For Howling
Can we say enough good things about Smith's play thus far. Other than the first game of the year, he has looked phenomenal in net. His only regulation loss since the disaster in San Jose came in a 2-0 shutout to LA where Jonathan Quick simply stole 2 points for the Kings. Smith still is working out the kinks of working with new defensemen as a puck-handling goalie, but that will come with time. 2.57 GAA, .919 save percentage - yeah, that works.
New Line Combinations Are Working - Howlin' Hockey
Tippett is not much for constantly juggling line combinations, and has not done much juggling this season. He has tweaked a few lines, and this has resulted in shuge contributions to individual and team success. The current lines(minus Hanzal’s injury) are strong and unique.
Three games in, rookie Miele learning and not hurting team - Ice Chips
“You can see there’s still a little bit of a learning curve for him, but he’ll show you sparks when gets the puck he can make a great play,” coach Dave Tippett said. “He’s competitive, like he works his tail off out there, but there’s some things he still needs to work on.”
Burke discusses philosophy of goaltending - Ice Chips
“I'm not going to try to ever B.S. them or sugarcoat it, but on the other hand, we're trying to find a formula that works for everybody, and you tinker with that sometimes."
Phoenix Coyotes assign Andy Miele to Portland - AZ Central

Coyotes Recall Chipchura from AHL - Phoenix Coyotes

Lowetide: G 13 Oilers at Coyotes
It's a challenger for Hall: earn the trust of the coach and impact the game so much that Tom Renney has to send his line over the boards to cheat for offense because the rewards are so great. I don't think Taylor Hall has done anything wrong this season, but it isn't his team.
GAME DAY: Oilers @ Coyotes - Oil On Whyte
Devan Dubnyk is slated to get the nod tonight. He’s got a pretty hard act to follow in Nikolai Khabibulin, but Dubnyk’s played quite well in his appearances this season (2-2-0, 1.98 GAA and .938 SV%).
Oilers at Coyotes – Game 13 – Putting on the Foil
Now, eventually the Oilers are going to come down to earth and lose a game, but it’s spectacular that they’re winning these games because every little bit counts when it comes to making the playoffs.
The Oilers on the Power Play - The Copper & Blue
In other words, Edmonton's problems in this area are being obscured by some very strong early-season percentages.
Oil Observations From Week 3 - The Copper & Blue
The one issue I’ve seen so far is that this unit needs to set up with certain players in certain spots. Nugent-Hopkins on the RW half wall, Eberle on the point/LW half boards, Potter at the point near the RW and Hall and Horcoff sort of free roaming to different areas as needed. The problem with this requirement is that a smart PK group is going to start picking that up and countering it.
Oilers' Even Strength Scoring Chances Through 12 Games - The Copper & Blue
The Oilers have yet to trail by 2 or more goals this season. So there's that ridiculousness.
Lowetide: Omark Flight Risk?
That was quick. L Omark, who has played one AHL game since Oilers sent him to OK City, has already said he may not be long for farm team.
