Defending Big D

Dallas Stars Officially Announce Tom Gaglardi as New Owner - Defending Big D
It is official. There is no longer any doubt of any kind. At all. The Dallas Stars have a new owner and that man is Tom Gaglardi.

Gameday Preview: Edmonton Oilers @ Dallas Stars (7:30pm CDT) - Defending Big D
Unfortunately the on-ice happenings these days are not quite as cheerful. The team has lost five in a row, dropping from first in the Western Conference to 9th in that time, tied with tonight's opponent the Edmonton Oilers. Dallas has been out-scored 16-1 in their last ten periods of hockey, and broke a scoreless streak of 194 minutes in the third period against San Jose Saturday when Mike Ribeiro beat Antti Niemi.

Dallas Stars Coach Glen Gulutzan: "We're going to shut our mouths and we're going to play." - Defending Big D
This losing streak has called into question many aspects of this team especially considering how coach Glen Gulutzan refused to stray from his plan and wanted his team to just fight through the adversity. We've seen how a singular injury -- the loss of Alex Goligoski to a broken thumb -- has an incredible effect on the rest of the team. We've also seen how the regression of Mike Ribeiro and Brenden Morrow as serious offensive threats has created a void in scoring ability outside of the top line.

Dallas Stars Recall Forward Tomas Vincour From AHL - Defending Big D
The Dallas Stars announced this morning that Tomas Vincour has been recalled from the AHL, although the exact reasoning for the callup has not been made clear. Perhaps the Stars are indeed trying to infuse some new energy into the roster or perhaps there will be some lingering effects from the events of the final minutes of the game last night.

G20 Oilers at Stars - Lowetide
I won't be cheering against Souray, the Oilers put themselves in the position of being the bad guy in that scenario long ago. However, I'll cheer like hell for the team to beat Dallas, and will vehemently refuse to acknowledge a feeling of impending doom even if the good guys go down 2 goals.

Oilers at Dallas – Game 20 - Putting on the Foil
One guy that didn’t score a point at all that night was Magnus Paajarvi. His struggles continue. It’s upsetting because I know he’s in the quicksand right now. Nothing he does seems to improve things for him. The chances have been there at times. I think he’ll get it, but I hate seeing players struggle..

The Future Is Now, And His Name Is Jeff Petry - Cult of Hockey
Petry probably should have been a top-seven defenseman based on merit this year, particularly given the struggles of Theo Peckham and Cam Barker...

LOL As The Kids Say - Black Dog Hates Skunks
Tom Gilbert continues to play very very well and last night he put up some crooked numbers and knocked Toews around a bit and one thinks that maybe, just maybe, folks may be coming around on Tom Gilbert and I would say its about time there.
