The Oklahoma City Barons leading scorer and most recent twitter devotee, Philippe Cornet, has unfolded a bit of insider information. Tonight the left winger had this to say about fellow Baron, Colten Teubert.
Following an Alex Plante callup and swift return, the Oilers seem to be testing the defensive waters with both Cam Barker, and Ryan Whitney on the injured list, and Andy Sutton riding the pine via a five game suspension. Teubert will have some things to prove. He's had a decent start in Oklahoma City where his +3 also comes with 2 goals and 2 assists on 12 shots. His recent propensity for being both brawny and offensively minded have caught the attention of Oilers management. Will he get some time in the upcoming game in Los Angeles? We'll wait and see. Ironically, Ryan Smyth may not be the only former Los Angeles King in attendance that night. Teubert, the 13th pick in the 2008 draft, played in the Kings minor league farm system in Manchester for 39 games before he was bundled in the Dustin Penner trade at last season's trade deadline.
Check out my take on Colten Teubert and the rest of the Barons through six games.
