Although Kobasew's game is quite a bit different from that of Robert Nillson, Nilsson is 3 years younger and posted more points this season. Does anyone doubt that contract was a bargain?
And, while we're on the subject, what does this do for Curtis Glencross' agent? We know that Glencross' 15 goals in 62 games (very similar GPG rate to Kobasew) was based on an unrepeatable shooting %, but the boxcar numbers and age are similar enough that I doubt he signs for much under 2M/season. And if that's the line in the sand, Lowe should let him walk.
