On this day 32 years ago the Oilers and Jets played the last game in WHA history. Today in Edmonton the WHA has been all but forgotten. There are seven years of Oilers history tied to the WHA and with 32 NHL now under our belts I see no better time than now to start recognizing and celebrating the OIlers WHA history as the team enters their 40th anniversary season.

Silverware anniversary: 25 years ago the Oilers won their second Stanley Cup with a transcendent performance, beating 2010 finallists Chicago and Philadelphia in the process.

Sure, the Phoenix Coyotes put on a good show. But us Oiler fans should be crying to get the Jets back.
