And it was down to one. Drew Cherwonka is the last Oilers prospect in the WHL playoffs, or playoffs at all for that matter. Wouldn't you know it though; Czerwonka's health is a concern for him for the final round. On Saturday April 23rd, Czerwonka took a puck to the face but finished the game. On Tuesday April 26th Czerwonka was taken off of the ice on a stretcher. The 6th round pick is said to be tender but otherwise in good health and spirits.
The Medicine Hat Tigers were playing without Oilers' prospect Tyler Pitlick due to a broken ankle that is still slowly healing. Oilers' goalie prospect Tyler Bunz played remarkably well, but wasn't enough to get the Tigers a win in the series.
The Kootenay Ice will take on the winner of the Spokane Chiefs and Portland Winterhawks series.
