I was quite surprised by Risebrough's dismissal; he did a fantastic job getting the Minnesota Wild up and running. On the other hand, Kent's (also of Matchsticks & Gasoline) post brings up some good points: Lemaire covers over a lot of sins, and "gun-shy" probably isn't an inaccurate description of the G.M. He's sold me, I think.
James Mirtle is reporting that Doug Risebrough has been fired by Minnesota Wild owner Craig Leopold. It's a big surprise from where I sit; Risebrough has had a very good track record since expansion, and the fact that he's gone while Don Waddell still draws an NHL paycheck is bizarre.
