If the world was a better place, a famous personality interviewing with a gay man wouldn't be memorable. In a better world, Brendan Burke's outing wouldn't be a big story. In a much better world, someone with the courage of Brendan Burke wouldn't pass at such a young age. People will say that this brings "perspective" to the game, but it doesn't. Burke will be passed over soon enough and the NHL can get back to pretending there are no gay men in the game. Here's hoping someone has the courage of the kid to stand up and do the same thing he did. He was a helluva man considering he was just a kid.
