To everyone in Canada outside of BC, you're welcome.
Steve Tambellini has known Renney for at least fifteen years, since Renney was with the Canucks. The Oilers have had literally months to make up their minds in terms of what to do wtih Renney. It is bizarre that they now need to meet and evaluate what to do.

Not much happening here. They are in negotiations with Ryan Smyth, but he is a rather small fish with limited options who doesn't want to play anywhere but Edmonton. He'll be back. Cam Barker and Linus Omark, who both spent all of the season the doghouse, won't.
"T.D. (Forss) checked with him a number of times on the bench and he was adamant that he was good to go and capable of playing," said Renney. "When things settle down, often times that’s what happens, speaking from experience. That’s when you go, ‘Wait a second.’"
Of course, if you’re interested in seeing the Oilers win some day, this is just another piece of evidence that the management team is not a particularly detail oriented group.
"He's an NHL player.Would be great if he came to camp next year.Hope he contributes to our team but if not some other team." Renney on Omark
It's no secret that the Oilers need defensemen...so trading away by far their best blueliner makes perfect sense, right?
Magnus Paajarvi looks OK...he's on the ice early today. Great news.
We've decided to protect our interest and keep Pavel off the ice until this situation is resolved. We're making our decisions on a player-by-player and opportunity-by-opportunity basis. We see potential opportunity to improve our club with regards to Pavel.
We're letting the guys who have screwed it up all this way do the trade. Oh boy.
