$1000 Donated to MADD In Khabibulin's Name
Last night Nikolai Khabibulin was recognized as the winner of the Molson Cup for October. As part of the award a $1000 donation was made in his name to Mothers Against Drunk Driving. That's 0.0285% of his salary. For some strange reason I find that a little funny.
Only one thing really disappointing with the 2011 FAF festivities.
I know he had been within the organization for quite some time and diminished to the point where he was let go and re-signed on an AHL-only contract, but letting go Colin McDonald after he seemed to be finally coming around is something that was a negative for me today. Sad Face.

Arbitration vs. Offer sheets
I'm looking for an expert to clear something up...and then a bunch of non-experts to speculate as to how it could affect the Oil's "plan" I've read recently that Shea Weber and Zack Parise have been sent to club elected Salary Arbitration in order to avoid offer sheets being sent their way.. So my questions are: 1. Is it true that a player can only be subject to one Club elected Arbitration in his career? 2. Can Arbitration awards only be 2 years length maximum? 3. Can players with less that 4 years exp be taken to Arbitration This has a lot of implications in terms of avoiding offer sheets on our RFA's in the coming years.
Sourr grapes
Sheldon Sourray....Is he still playing for Hershey? Is he on the Clear day roster? Can the Oilers pull him out of the playoffs whenever they want?
BONBAD
I just watched Bon cop Bad cop on CBC. It's terrible, but glorious at the same time. I won't spoil it for everyone but let's just say they treat Bettman and Pocklington the way many people dream of.
Here's hoping the Kings go on a loosing streak
Best case scenario for the Oil...Kings miss the playoffs and finish 9-10 in a tight western conf. Our first rounder will be a lot more valuable! Realistically, that 3rd rounder conditional will never become a 2nd. From now on its anybody but the kings FTW.
Zherdev v. Jacques
It can't be just me thinking that it would have been worth the "risk" of losing someone like Jacques to waivers to see 20 games of Zherdev?
Potential Hemsky Trade?
Apologies if the Fanshots are the wrong place for this. Looking at the Capitals' roster, the second line is quite weak. Aside from Alexander Semin, no one who plays on that line with any regularity can control the puck and drive the play with any consistency. Ideally, the Capitals trade for a good center and move W-turned-C Tomas Fleischmann back on the left, but with seemingly only one good center potentially available for trade (Brad Richards), maybe the best strategy is to add a wing. Given posts here at Copper and Blue about ES Points% and other Corsi measures, Ales Hemsky looks like a really good player for the Capitals to chase. I have three questions: 1) Is there any realistic possibility Ales Hemsky gets traded this season? 2) If yes, along what lines would the asking price be? 3) Would the Oilers be interested in a trade package from the Capitals not involving Ovechkin, Backstrom, Semin, Fehr, Laich, Chimera, Johansson, Green, Schultz, Poti, Carlson, Alzner, Varlamov, Neuvirth, or multiple first round picks?
OILERS STAND BEHIND KHABIBULIN??
OILERS STAND BEHIND KHABIBULIN? Does that mean the Oilers stand behind every drunk driver, or just the ones with money??? Shameful!
