Bold Moves

The Oilers have needs this offseason. Most of the Coppernblue reads know them by now. But I'll list the two I'm going to address today anyways.

Bold Move 1)

The Oilers need a number 1 dman. Lots of talk about Letang, but he's going to cost you an Eberle type ransom. Im not ready to see him go to another team. The answer in my opinion is Yandle. I've been pumping Yandle's tires for half a year now to my friends. He's pretty much perfect fit for the Oilers. Big, left handed shot and plays in every situation. And Phoenix is the perfect trading partner. They have a ton of d and we have offence.

What would we have to give up to get him? He wouldn't cost as much as Letang thats forsure and he's probably a more rounded player. My scenario is Gagner and the 7th pick for Yandle and the 12th pick.

Pretty easy by my eye that this works for both teams. Might need a throw in. (2rd pick/prospect)

Bold Move 2)

We just traded away our #2 centerman. Horcoff is getting moved apparently and the Nuge is recovering from shoulder surgery. The Oilers are in trouble down the middle. This is where MacT needs to make a proper move.

This scenario has Hemsky being sent to the Avs for Stastny. Statsny is the number 2/3rd center on this team behind Oreilly and Duchene. Duchene is about to get a raise at least 6 mil. due to Oreilly's contract and Statsny make 6 mil plus right now for one more year.

Also giving the fact that Sacic has basically told everyone they're not taking Seth Jones. It seems like they might be picking another center who will be nhl ready next year.

Statsny and Hemsky both have one year left on their deals. Avs get some cap relief and the Oilers pick up a center who can playing 1 line to 3 rd line duties.

Sum it up Oilers move 7th pick, Gagner and Hemsky for 12 th pick, Statsny and Yandle. those two trades improve our team massively IMO.

Let me know what you guys think.
