Top Story:

New Jersey last came to Rexall Place in January of 2012 and the current incarnation of the Devils look nothing like those Devils. The roster has churned significantly, but these Devils still know how to get the puck and keep the puck. The Oilers have looked like a team lost, and without an idea in their own zone.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins returns to the lineup to hopefully fix that. Dallas Eakins has already moved Hall back to left wing and Eberle back to the Hall line. Nugent-Hopkins will roll into a mess, but is his shoulder strong enough to hold up?

Changes on defense:  Brandon Davidson is up, and Andrew Ference may be out.  Can a Grebeshkov - Belov pairing withstand the Devils attack?

The Oilers are saying:

Eakins has to be trolling Matheson and Spector with that last sentence.  He has to be.

The Opponent is saying:

"You’re two games into an 82-game schedule. This is a long road. We’ve got a lot of new players. I think some of our issues in the neutral zone are due to new guys learning a new system too. So, we’ve just got to use our practice time as best we can and continue to chip away and get this put in the right spot."

-- Peter DeBoer has to be talking to Edmonton Fans.

Key matchup: It should be something to do with Hall back to the left wing and Hopkins back in the lineup, but the defense might be an issue. Petry and Smid have been okay, but they need to be outstanding against the Devils top six for the Oilers to have a chance.
