Top Story: It's been a very long time since the Oilers were definitely better than the Flames, but this season they are. In a setup that should be extremely familiar to Oilers fans, the Flames are built to win a top three pick and not much else. The defense isn't awful, but it's not a playoff defense either. The forwards are either very old or very young and center depth is non-existent.

The Oilers are saying:

"He's added some pounds and you could see the benefits of that last night. After a few adjustments, you could see that there were some situations where we would have liked him to be a little more aggressive and he picked up on that really quick and finished very strong. He knew he needed to add some poundage to have a stronger push back, to be more uncomfortable to play against and we're pleased where he is right now."

Key matchup: The Flames have one real line and the one young line under development. If the Oilers can keep Tanguay and Iginla away from the bottom pairing and their own young line, the Oilers should have an easy time. Ralph Krueger still has to show commitment to matchups.
