http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=413456 Cam Barker signs with the Canucks. This will his 3rd progressively cheaper contract. Presumably he fits in as the 7th defensemen on the Canucks roster. It says here that his boxcars will be 14 GP 1 G 1 A 12 PIM, with the Canucks in sporadic duty. The crystal ball says he plays against the Oil once and is directly responsible for 3 goals against. I would be circling any Canucks / Oilers games he is in the line-up. Truth be told due to the short season and large number of games per week, he might actually see twice as many games if the Canucks rest their Defense from time to time. He will be one of a few Canucks in game shape, having played 24 games with the Dallas Star's affliate in the AHL. 3 G, 5 A and 24 PIM. Then 4 games in the Spengler Cup. Surely there were better choices for the Canucks out there, even with limited cap room. At any rate great news for teams in the
Smythe Northwest Division.
