E.G. Years 1-4 of Weber's contract would be $14 M, Years 5-6 $12M, Years 7-14 $7.857M.
The only teams this would benefit artificially is teams trying to reach the floor - which isn't an economic problem for the NHL. It is for the NHLPA, but health of the game relates more to the owners than the players if we are honest. This is despite the fact the Players are the product.
