Oilers Recall Linus Omark

An announcement this morning from the Oilers' Twitter feed that Linus Omark has been recalled from Oklahoma City. Omark has played 18 games with the Barons this season recording six goals and ten assists. Omark also spent some time with the Oilers earlier this season but didn't play much, dressing in just five games before being demoted. The timing of this move is interesting for a couple of reasons. First Omark played with the Barons in Peroria, Grand Rapids, and Chicago over the weekend and will now have to fly to Anaheim to meet the Oilers. If he plays tonight and tomorrow that would mean he'd have played five games in five nights, not an ideal situation by any means and not one that Omark is likely to shine in. And secondly, if Omark plays in four or more games with the Oilers he would have to clear waivers to rejoin the Barons for the playoffs. I can't imagine the Oilers would be willing to risk a claim on him so if he stays for any time the Barons will almost certainly be without Omark come playoff time.
