Post-Trade Review: How are the players performing? - Mile High Hockey
In light of this, I thought it would be interesting to see how the players involved in some of the Avalanche's recent trades have fared since making the move. Have they come out like gangbusters are are they still trying to find their way?

Thoughts on Quincey & his comments - Jibblescribbits
But I feel like Quincey is high enough caliber to get more for him. This was confirmed yesterday when Jack Johnson, who only plays good hockey on the Powerplay, when he doesn't have to actually play defense, was moved with a first round pick for Jeff Carter. I don't really understand why Greg Sherman couldn't have gotten a better deal than Downie, and I probably never will.
Ask The MHH Expert: Goalie Equipment Edition - Mile High Hockey
But the question did get us thinking about goalies and more specifically goalie equipment size (and by "us" I mean the other 3,987 staff writers besides me because I think about goalies ALL the time). We figured that some of you might not know about some of this stuff so I thought we'd have a quick primer on netminding equipment regulations.
Gabriel Landeskog's new CCM stick. - Mile High Hockey
Gabe has been using CCM since he came into the league. Back in December Gabe joined forces with CCM to donate 2,500 $ cash and 2,500$ in CCM equipment to Foothills Hockey Association in Denver. Recently he has been using the CCM RBZ hockey stick, and he will continue to do so through the end of the season. His is a slight variation of the twig above, his is all white. He isn't alone, Rya Nudgent-Hopkins will also be using this stick. The image above is of the permanant design (used with permission).
Oilers @ Avalanche, Game 70 Preview - Mile High Hockey
The Avalanche come into today's afternoon contest versus the Edmonton Oilers with just 13 games remaining on the schedule and the pressure of the playoff race only increasing with every game. The Avs, now in 11th place after Calgary's Friday night victory over Winnipeg, are still very much alive in the race for the Western Conference's final playoff spot but need to convert the opportunities given to them by the NHL schedule gods starting today.
Ryan Smyth - Ryan Nugent-Hopkins - Ales Hemsky
Ben Eager - Shawn Horcoff - Ryan Jones
Taylor Hall - Sam Gagner - Jordan Eberle
Lennart Petrell - Eric Belanger - Linus Omark
Ladislav Smid – Jeff Petry
Ryan Whitney – Nick Schultz
Theo Pekcham – Corey Potter
G68 Oilers at Avalanche - Lowetide
The Edmonton Oilers will begin draft day 2012 with a long list of needs. The top of the NHL entry draft this season is an interesting combination of highly skilled Russian forwards, quality defensemen from the CHL and some Swedish kids thrown in for good measure.
