Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

You know what I would like? A team that actually made the playoffs and contended year after year. A team like Detroit or Boston or how Jersey or Dallas were a while back. Or even the Canucks now. And strangely enough these teams didn't suck for six years to get there.

Compare Pat from Black Dog Hates Skunks comments to that of our guy Triumph. Pat's take is a wee bit different.

For the record, the Canucks sucked pretty badly in the late 90s.

Great point from from Pat above. I have gotten so used to losing, that I look forward to it and the number 1 draft pick that we hope to get. I tend to forget that it is possible to get back to winning, without multiple years of losing.

I must have missed all the Stanley Cup finals the Canucks appeared in from 1995 to 2005! -).
The Canucks were no better than the Oilers over that decade. The Oilers might have even won more playoff series, but I would have to check.

Detroit and Jersey (remember Mickey Mouse) DID suck for a decade to get there.

In that 10 year span, Vancouver missed the playoffs 4 times by a combined 45 points, which is 12 more than what the Oilers missed by in 2009-10 alone.

Yes, Vancouver fell into a bit of a rut, but they were able to get out of it much faster than the Oilers have.

In theory, there is little difference between practice and theory, but in practice there is!

Tactical contributor to the Copper & Blue and just as boring on the twitters... @dawgbone98
