I'm struck by the European dominance at the top of the list. 9 of the top 11 forwards are European, though 5 of those 9 are playing in North America.

There are 8 Czechs as well as 3 forwards in the first 11 picks (and god do we need a few young breakout players)…. faksa, hertl, frk, hyka, volek, machac, chiapik and beran. 9 if you want to give us the mulligan with Australian Nathan Walker who plays for Vitkovice and has been in the Czech Republic for around 5 years now.

Also, I think only 2 Finns, 1 Slovak, 1 Latvian and 0 Swiss/Danish/German players. That’s a quick look though so maybe there are more. Our U16, U17, U18 and U19 teams took massive thrashings across Europe this weekend so we need some good news!
