Ryan Nugent-Hopkins Out For A Month

The Edmonton Oilers announced today that Ryan-Nugent Hopkins will head to injured reserve:

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will be out of the #Oilers line-up for the next 3-4 weeks with a left shoulder injury.

Nugent-Hopkins joins Cam Barker (ankle), Sam Gagner (ankle), Taylor Hall (shoulder), Ales Hemsky (shoulders), Alex Plante (concussion), Corey Potter (ankle), and Ryan Whitney (knee, ankle, foot) on the significant injury list thus far in 2011-12.

While no official announcement has been made regarding the nature of the injury, the fall and recovery time suggest a mild sprain of the AC ligament, similar to the one Hall suffered after being hit by Ryan Wilson.

News and notes:

  • Tom Gilbert left the ice early during this morning's skate and will not be in the lineup tonight against the Blues.
  • Ryan Whitney went to North Carolina for a consultation with his doctors there. While listed as day-to-day, the injury seems much more severe at this point.

Besides, according to the tournament of small sample sizes, he’s falling 12 places in the draft anyways.

In theory, there is little difference between practice and theory, but in practice there is!

Oh, I really hope so. Then MBS can use the 1st from a Hemsky trade to pick Murray.

If I was a team drafting in the top 5, I’d take a long time to study the impact of injuries on teenagers coming into the NHL.

I paged down past this post quickly, and as the image went by I thought “who’s that cute girl?” It was the Nuge. Yeah.

I thought you had it bad for Eberle? Something new and a little younger comes along and you forget alll about him! SHAME.

I’m a two-timing hussy. This is not, in fact, news.

And here I was thinking at first that you were talking about the actual cute brunette standing next to Stranglehold looking all anxious like.
