Oilers Real D Problem: Too Experienced. Need More Teenagers
It's official: the Oilers have been bottom feeders for so long, player agents think they play in the WHL.
It's actually ironic when considering the problems Edmonton has signing NHL-caliber free agents..

Maybe this year
It’s not about too many veterans; it’s about the philosophy being “Never waste a high draft pick on a defenceman”.
Then after all said and done, see if you can patch the defence together, and “GULP” still stay under the cap. Do you think it may have been useful to draft a top dman in the first round in the past 23 years?
Maybe this year.
The philosophy isn’t “Never waste a high draft pick on a defenceman”. The philosophy is (and always should be) draft the best player available.
In theory, there is little difference between practice and theory, but in practice there is!

Marincin???
Marincin has been so highly touted. Why hasn’t he made it to the parent club yet?
I haven’t seen him play enough to judge.
