This sucks. Kytnar was here and did a good job with his ice time. Green blows. Why waste the air fare?

Because Kytnar was an emergency recall the Oilers had to return him to Stockton as soon as was reasonable.

And now Kytnar has been recalled by the Barons to fill the spot vacated by Green.

Well, that’s something at least.

Why would he be an “emergency recall”? He is a on a two-way contract, not subject to waivers. If the Oilers want to call him up, what’s the problem? NHL teams can’t call up their players directly from the ECHL without them passing through the farm team? That’s insanity.

I would assume that they can recall a player directly from the ECHL but I don’t know for sure. They did make a point about the Kytnar recall being an emergency though and the CBA says those players have to be returned in a timely manner.

This is exactly why Tambo needs to be fired immediately

I hear you. In my list of reasons to fire Tambellini, his handling of Milan Kytner ranks number two.

O’marra, Green/Arcobello, House, Vandevelde. The team’s in first place. The OKC team is no longer a laughing stock thanks to Tambellini and his OKC hires and MacGregor.

Who do you NOT play?

Also, the pro scouting guys (apart from Sutter) are all Lowe’s old cronies, the part of the organization that Tambellini has not cleaned out.

Tambellini deserves full credit for building a strong development system. If the Oilers moved him out of the GM role and put him in charge of thew player development system only, I think that would be a good use of his talents. The problem is being a GM is more than just building a development system. It’s also about building a fucking balanced team, making smart / creative trades and signing the right friggin’ free agents.

Seniority is important…..it will help us attract great vet FA’s in the future…Green of all OKCers he has earned his right to wear Coppernblue…..he paid his dues here as rookie, sacrificed his body to the point of season ending double shoulder surgery, and it took him the better part of a decade to recover….I’m not saying he’ll amount to anything or ever be productive….but his heart is in the right place

Tambo appears incompetent, but he’s doing exactly what katz is asking of him…..picking top 5 for 3 or 4 years and challenging for the calder cup, letting rookies battle it out trial by fire and signing the cream that rises to the top
