Around SBN: NFL Players Ready To Welcome Gay Teammate

Gene Principe tweeted this afternoon that Whitney skated today but that his ankle is still bothering him. Dan Tencer tweeted this as well, adding that there is no timeline on being pain free. I sure hope Cam Barker proves all the naysayers wrong.

His ankles are made of glass, the achilles heel as it were.

How long ago was this? December 2010 wasn’t it? Dammit! There is no way he’ll be healthy this year, no way, no how. I’m not normally the pessimist, but if he hasn’t healed by now, what difference is a couple of weeks/months going to make? Then if he is healthy, how long till some jerk off, takes a hack at his feet? DOOOOOMED!!!!

I hope I am wrong, I really hope I am. How is that acquisition of a top 4 defender coming along? Oh yeah, DOOM!

Embrace the pessimism, it’s a lot of fun.

This is just preseason pessimism, I’m just getting warmed up. By the end of October I’ll be printing off posters of Khabibulin to only rip them into tiny little pieces. By November, I’ll have a concussion of my own from banging my head against the wall after the defense makes another boneheaded play. Finally by December, I’ll be weeping in a corner wondering when the season will be over and looking forward to another lottery pick(hopefully a defenseman).

I see your pessimism and I'll raise you

He’s a great team guy that was on pace for a career year, before it was cut short due to yet another injury in an already injury prone career.

I’m surprised Lowe didn’t jump at that opportunity to re-sign him early. badumpbump

He technically couldn’t because of how much time Whitney had on his current deal.

In theory, there is little difference between practice and theory, but in practice there is!
