"You can already feel the change.  The winds are blowing, as they say. The mentality and the upbeat personality around here is really changing things around. You feel really good going into the dressing room. It's a clean slate. It's a great opportunity for players to show the coaches what you're made of."

Oilers' prospect Brandon Davidson on the new Regina Pats. Davidson was in Regina last week as the Pats opened training camp and should be in Edmonton for Oilers' rookie camp next month. He may also find himself in Oklahoma City for training camp with the Barons as well.  He's in for a hectic 30 days and a whole bunch of travel.

The Oilers' contract situation puts an enormous amount of pressure on a number of Barons, but it also puts pressure on Davidson.  Without a dominant and eye-opening rookie camp, it's unlikely he'll be able to wedge himself into Oklahoma City and take the last contract on the list.

In the end, it's likely that he'll stay in Regina for the season and play as an overager in the WHL.
