The players who played for the Barons and were not given qualifying offers by the Oilers are Liam Reddox who has already signed with a team in Europe, Zack Stortini, Matt Marquardt, Kevin Montgomery, Bryan Pitton, and Jordan Bendfeld. JF Jacques, who played a couple games for the Barons on a conditioning loan, was also not given a qualifying offer.
I suspected that this was the case, but Oklahoma City writer Eric Rodgers confirmed a few days ago, that the only Oilers to receive qualifying offers were Ladislav Smid, Andrew Cogliano, Theo Peckham, Ryan O'Marra, and Taylor Chorney. I think that all of those decisions are reasonable, though I'm surprised that Kevin Montgomery wasn't retained. The Barons have a need for left-handed defenders, and Montgomery played quite well after coming over at the trade deadline.

Seems crazy to me not to qualify Montgomery, unless Nelson hated the guy.
