Ryan Smyth has been officially traded to the Oil. Coming back to the Kings is a 7th round draft pick and Colin Fraser. This is an excellent trade for The Kings, as Fraser only has an 825K cap hit, and his contract expires at the end of the upcoming season. Also, it is perfect for Edmonton, as they now have a veteran winger who can be an excellent mentor. Furthermore, for both teams, it removes over 6 million from The Kings Salary Cap, and moves Edmonton 6 million closer to the Cap floor, while only costing The Oil 4ish million in real money. Finally!
