Favorite memories of Doug Weight?
So at last, it sounds like Doug Weight will retire, with an announcement Thursday. So I'm just curious: What are you favorite memories of him as an Oiler?
Even in his final years, when actually healthy (which usually meant the first three games of the season), he still had those wheels and those hands. It's a shame the body only lasts so long.

Is it the last 100-point season in Oilers history? Any of a dozen sublime passes? The great playoff moments? No, it’s definitely the time he kicked the shit out of that skunk Bryan Marchment.

Marchment: The Cooke of the ’90s.
Thanks a lot for these, guys. I could identify with all of them (having seen him a lot in St. Louis, before he had to be shot on Long Island).
Lighthouse Hockey: A flute with no holes is not a flute. A doughnut with no hole is Frans Nielsen.
The pass to Marchant in Reunion Arena.

I think Ben’s nailed the most memorable Doug Weight moment for me, mostly because I was so surprised when I saw it happen, but when I think of Weight it’s the passing that comes to mind more than anything. But he was also a really classy guy and amazing spokesperson. I especially remember what a good job he did of dealing with Oiler fans (stupidly) booing the American national anthem in those classic series against the Stars.

No question – Ben’s nailed it. That was awesome.
