Ice Sweep Tigers
And it was down to one. Drew Cherwonka is the last Oilers prospect in the WHL playoffs, or playoffs at all for that matter. Wouldn't you know it though; Czerwonka's health is a concern for him for the final round. On Saturday April 23rd, Czerwonka took a puck to the face but finished the game. On Tuesday April 26th Czerwonka was taken off of the ice on a stretcher. The 6th round pick is said to be tender but otherwise in good health and spirits.
The Medicine Hat Tigers were playing without Oilers' prospect Tyler Pitlick due to a broken ankle that is still slowly healing. Oilers' goalie prospect Tyler Bunz played remarkably well, but wasn't enough to get the Tigers a win in the series.
The Kootenay Ice will take on the winner of the Spokane Chiefs and Portland Winterhawks series.

11 straight wins and counting for the Ice. Talk about getting hot at the right time. Toughest part now is the waiting, could be almost a week before they play their next game.

Wow just noticed that their last loss was March 29. The earliest the West Final can end is Saturday so the Ice will actually go the whole month of April without a loss.

I’m an Oilers’ fan. I don’t understand… haha. They’ve had a good run.

You’re too young. Oilers had a few nice rolls like that between 1983-90. Take my word for it, it was fun.

How did Caps pick Cody Eakin look? I know he had great numbers, but how was his play?

If I reference a lot of stats, just assume I haven't seen anything to contradict or invalidate them.
I wasn’t watching him specifically, but he stood out enough to catch my eye on several occasions. He looks as though he has a very fluid stride and soft hands. He has good hockey sense and was outperforming his linemates at times. The coaches were trying other combinations to help Eakin out it seemed. Give the kid a few more years, but the kid looks like a player.
