Oilers and Marincin Agree on a 3 Year Contract

2

After getting their other two second round picks from last years draft - Tyler Pitlick and Curtis Hamilton - signed to entry level deals the Oilers today closed the loop and got a deal done with Martin Marincin as well. Marincin, who is 6'5", scored 14 goals and 42 assists this season in his first year with the Prince George Cougars of the WHL. Very good numbers but his production slowed significantly in the latter stages of the season. To go with those offensive numbers Marcinin also brings a mean streak that was on full display at the World Juniors this year. Bruce had a chance to talk to Marincin earlier this year at the Cult of Hockey about the differences between the WHL and Slovakia as well as that play at the World Juniors.
