nice job on that simpsons reference:)
I was so euphoric after that Hawks win – I both hate Van AND I have Hossa-Toews-Kane in my draft pool – that I couldn’t ride out another hockey game.
So I don’t have much to add here except props for your reference.
It was what I was thinking throughout the second period. “This is just a whoopin”

I guess it is appropriate that Thornton-Marleau-Setoguchi was the line that wonit in OT
Looking at these stats, it looks like it was a dam waiting to bust open.
Scary thing is, Couture-Clowe-Heatley has put up all the points on the scoreboard, even though Thornton-Marleau-Setoguchi is getting more chances. Terry Murray could see the box score and very well make a big mistake in switching over Mitchell/Doughty to take on Couture’s line. LA was going to have to be very lucky/get good goaltending as it is to have a chance to pull this out. It would get infinitly more difficult for LA if Terry Murray overcompensates and puts weaker defensemen on what has been a slowly awakening Sharks top line.
Murray has no options here. His best center is as good (maybe) as San Jose’s third-best center. Richardson moved up last game and played out of his mind, he’s got to match Handzus and Stoll against Thornton, Couture and Pavelski. He’s got no options.

Just a curiousity question:
Where can one find the game number for a particular matchup?
Thanks, and amazing analysis.

It’s the last five digits on the game reports, which can be found on nhl.com. So, for example, this one is 30146.
