It seems the Oilers are interested in giving prospects and in the system players alike a chance to play a few games in the NHL this year. Most expected the call-up of Teemu Hartikainen to be reflective of potential injuries to Shawn Horcoff, Jean-Francois Jacques and or GIlbert Brule, but the Oilers have assigned Alex Giroux to the Oklahoma City Barons. In his five games with the Oilers, Giroux has had one goal and one assist. Barons' fans will most likely be delited to have a scorer returned for the playoff push after seeing one taken away in Hartikainen.
