Petry Up & Plante Down
Announced today, the Oilers have recalled Jeff Petry and sent Alex Plante back down to Oklahoma City. The great defenseman swap continues. The Oilers face the Red Wings tomorrow evening, while the OKC Barons battle the San Antonio Rampage in a key Western Division matchup tonight.

after last night’s game it was clear that Plante wasnt going to stay here too long
Right before I close the door I yell "Pizza's here" into my emplty appartment so the delivery guy doesn't think All that Pizza is for me!
I quit watching part way through the third period but I’d seen enough of him to last me for quite a while by that point.

I’m pulling for Plante but he’s got a long ways to go. He was really overmatched this time around, discouragingly so when compared to his decent showing last year. Can’t remember who his partner was that time, but this time up he was with nothing but slow guys which really accentuated his own weakness in that dept.
Good for Petry to get into the Detroit game, that’s home territory for him. I’ll bet the Red Wing fans won’t have much trouble with name recognition either.

After the Oilers held Brule back so Giroux could play in Washington, I’m not surprised they are allowing Petry to play in Detroit. I think that they are trying to give some of the guys little pleasures.
Plante needs time, I have faith that he will be an NHL defenceman.

Didn’t work out too well for Giroux though. Hopefully Petry gets a better result tonight.
