Souray Clears Re-Entry Waivers
I'm actually a bit surprised that nobody would take Souray at half price, but there you have it. The Oilers haven't officially said that he's staying in Hershey (as opposed to joining the Oilers), but that seems like a pretty safe bet. On the other hand, the Oilers may elect to keep him on the roster until the deadline so that they can trade him if there's another team looking to dump salary and get a player in return. The rumored Mike Commodore deal is likely still on the table.

Here’s a question: Now that Souray has cleared re-entry waivers, does that mean Oilers are now free to deal him without fear of his being claimed? Or would they have to put him on re-entry waivers again at that time?
I know some of those waiver rules have a 30-day (?) clause, but don’t know about re-entry waivers specifically. I’ll leave that to the lawyers. That said, in this instance I am interested to know.
